National Information
EPA Region 9's Emergency Response Program - with federal on-scene coordinators (FOSCs) based in San Francisco & Signal Hill, California, Phoenix, Arizona and Carson City, Nevada - responds to environmental disasters, hazardous materials releases, time-critical removals, and inland oil spills that threaten human health and/or the environment. Other duties include participating in emergency preparedness drills, and counter-terrorism drills and planning.

Oil Spill Prevention and Cleanup
EPA / Coast Guard Response Jurisdiction Boundaries
This map allows the user to identify the boundary lines within California that define EPA (Inland Zone) and Coast Guard (Coastal Zone) emergency response jurisdictions. With this map, emergency responders, response support personnel, and natural resource trustees can readily identify the pre-designated federal response boundaries of an incident, and the federal agency with initial Incident Command Authority for the response and cleanup.
