About the Regional Water Division
Region 9 has established the following priorities for water protection and restoration:- Increase compliance with safe drinking water act requirements to protect public health
- Promote watershed approaches to restore waters via regulatory and voluntary methods
- Reduce beach pollution from SSOs and stormwater
- Minimize losses of wetland acres through permitting and enforcement actions
- Improve stormwater implementation at the state and local level
- Strengthen water quality and wetlands monitoring to assess waters
- Reduce environmental threats to fragile coral reefs
