Environmental Justice (EJ) Small Grants

Purpose To provide financial support for communities working on solutions to local environmental and public health issues. The program assists recipients in building collaborative partnerships to help them understand and address environmental and public health issues in their communities.
Eligible Applicants

An eligible applicant must be:

  1. An Incorporated non-profit community-based organizations-including environmental justice networks, faith-based organizations and those affiliated with religious institutions, OR
  2. A federally recognized tribal government,  OR  
  3. A tribal organization.

In addition: an eligible applicant must be able to demonstrate that it has worked directly with the affected community (see Request for Applications for more detail)..

Award Amount

Approximately $30,000

Total Awarded in Fiscal Year $1,500,000 in FY 2013
