July 2012: Proposed Partial Approval and Partial Disapproval of Arizona's Provisions for the Conflict of Interest Requirements of the Clean Air Act (CAA) for the 1997 Ozone, 1997 Fine Particulate (PM2.5), and 2006 PM2.5 National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS)

July 20, 2012: EPA proposed to partially approve and partially disapprove Arizona's provisions addressing CAA section 110(a)(2)(E)(ii) requirements that SIPs contain provisions to comply with the conflict of interest requirements of CAA section 128 regarding boards and heads of executive agencies that approve permits and enforcement orders.

July 2012: Proposed Approval of Arizona's Interstate Transport State Implementation Plan (SIP)

July 20, 2012: Clean Air Act section 110(a)(2)(D)(i) requires that SIPs contain adequate provisions to prohibit emissions from adversely affecting downwind states. EPA proposed to approve Arizona's provisions addressing two elements of the interstate transport requirements for the 2006 PM2.5 NAAQS: 1) significant contribution to nonattainment of the NAAQS, 2) interference with maintenance of the NAAQS.
