Based on ambient monitoring data from 2009 to 2011, we finalized our determination that the Paul Spur/Douglas nonattainment area in Arizona is currently attaining the national ambient air quality standard (NAAQS) for particulate matter less than ten microns in diameter (PM10).

Based on ambient monitoring data from 2009 to 2011, we proposed to determine that the Paul Spur/Douglas nonattainment area in Arizona is currently attaining the national ambient air quality standard (NAAQS) for particulate matter less than ten microns in diameter (PM10). We have provided for a 30-day period to receive public comment.
January 2011: Particulate Matter in Paul Spur/Douglas, AZ
EPA has signed a direct final rule determining, based on quality-assured, certified ambient monitoring data, that the Paul Spur/Douglas area in Arizona attained the 1987 primary National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) for particulate matter (PM-10) as of the applicable attainment date of December 31, 1994. The Act and our regulations require three years of quality-assured, certified ambient air quality data to make this finding. We also determine that the area has not continued to attain the standard through the present.
