January 2015: Final Approval of Nogales, Arizona Particulate Matter (PM2.5) Emissions Inventories

January 23, 2015 - EPA is approving the 2008 and 2010 particulate matter (PM2.5) emissions inventories for the Nogales nonattainment area. These emissions inventories address the Clean Air Act requirements for Nogales under the 2006 PM2.5 National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS).

August 2014: Proposed Approval of the PM2.5 Emissions Inventories for the Nogales, Arizona Nonattainment Area

August 20, 2014 - EPA proposed to approve the 2008 and 2010 PM2.5 and precursor pollutant emissions inventories for the Nogales PM2.5 nonattainment area. These emissions inventories were submitted by the State of Arizona to address the Clean Air Act requirements for Nogales under the 2006 PM2.5 National Ambient Air Quality Standards.

EPA has taken final action to approve the moderate area plan for the Nogales, Arizona PM10 nonattainment area. This final rule is effective 30 days after publication in the Federal Register.

June 2012: Proposed Approval of the 2012 Nogales PM10 Plan

On June 27, 2012, EPA proposed to approve the Moderate Area Plan for the Nogales, Arizona PM10 Nonattainment Area. A 30-day public comment period followed publication in the Federal Register.

January 2011: Determination of Attainment of the PM10 Standard for Nogales, AZ, as of the 1994 Deadline

EPA has signed a final rule determining, based on quality-assured, certified ambient monitoring data, that the Nogales area in Arizona attained the 1987 primary National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) for particulate matter (PM-10) as of the applicable attainment date of December 31, 1994. The Clean Air Act and our regulations require three years of quality-assured, State certified ambient air quality data to make this finding.
