January 13, 2017 – Arizona Regional Haze SIP Revision and Withdrawal of FIP for Cholla Power Plant 

This final action approves a source-specific Arizona Regional Haze SIP Revision for the Cholla Power Plant and withdraws the FIP provisions that applied to this facility.

June 30, 2016 - Arizona Regional Haze State Implementation Plan (SIP) Revision for Cholla Generating Station

This action proposes to approve a revision to the Arizona Regional Haze SIP and rescind the applicable provisions of the Arizona Regional Haze Federal Implementation Plan for Cholla Generating Station. The Regional Haze Program's goal is to reduce emissions of pollutants that impair visibility at protected national parks and wilderness areas, known as Class I areas.

November 4, 2016 - Arizona Regional Haze Federal Implementation Plan (FIP) Revision 

This action revises the Arizona Regional Haze FIP for Phoenix Cement Company (PCC) Clarkdale Plant and the CalPortland Cement (CPC) Rillito Plant. January 2015: Revisions to Arizona Regional Haze Federal Implementation Plan

EPA proposed to revise provisions of the Arizona Regional Haze Federal Implementation Plan applicable to the Nelson Lime Plant. The Regional Haze Program's goal is to reduce emissions of pollutants that impair visibility at protected national parks and wilderness areas, known as Class I areas. EPA is providing a 45 day public comment period from the date of publication in the Federal Register. Comments are due on or before February 27, 2015.

The Regional Haze Program’s goal is to reduce emissions of pollutants that impair visibility at protected national parks and wilderness areas, known as Class I areas.

January 27, 2014 - This action proposes to promulgate federal requirements for those elements of the Arizona Regional Haze State Implementation Plan that EPA disapproved on July 30, 2013. November 2012: Arizona Section 309 Regional Haze State Implementation Plan (SIP) - Partial Approval/Partial Disapproval of State Plan and Federal Plan

November 15, 2012 - EPA is taking final action to approve in part and disapprove in part Arizona's plan to control air pollution at Apache Generating Station, Cholla Power Plant and Coronado Generating Station. EPA is also promulgating a Federal Implementation Plan to replace certain elements of the State Implementation Plan. These pollutants contribute to visibility impairment in protected national parks and wilderness areas, known as Class 1 areas, in Arizona and neighboring States.

July 2012: Arizona Regional Haze SIP - Proposed Partial Approval/Partial Disapproval and Partial FIP

July 2, 2012 - EPA is proposing to partially approve and partially disapprove Arizona's plan to control air pollution at Cholla power plant, Apache Generating Station and Coronado Generating Station. EPA is also promulgating a Federal Implementation Plan for certain elements of the SIP. These pollutants contribute to visibility impairment in protected national parks and wilderness areas, known as Class 1 areas, in Arizona and neighboring States.

July 2013: Arizona Section 309 Regional Haze State Implementation Plan (SIP) – Partial Disapproval – Final Rule

July 26, 2013: EPA finalized a partial disapproval of Arizona’s section 309 state implementation plan (SIP) to implement the regional haze program.

January 2013: Arizona Section 309 Regional Haze State Implementation Plan (SIP) – Partial Disapproval

January 23, 2013: EPA proposed to disapprove in part Arizona’s section 309 State Implementation Plan (SIP) to implement the regional haze program addressing visibility impairment in mandatory Class I areas covered by the requirements related to the Grand Canyon Visibility Transport Commission, an optional program for certain western states.
