July 2014: Adequacy Determination for Motor Vehicle Emissions Budgets in the Sacramento 8-Hour Ozone Attainment Plan
July 25, 2014: Regional Administrator Jared Blumenfeld signed a Federal Register notice informing the public that the motor vehicle emissions budgets for 2014, 2017 and 2018 in the Sacramento Regional 8-Hour Ozone Attainment Plan and Reasonable Further Progress Plan (2013 revision) for the 1997 8-hour ozone national ambient air quality standard are adequate for transportation conformity purposes.

June 28, 2013: Deputy Regional Administrator Alexis Strauss signed a final rule determining that the Sacramento nonattainment area has attained and continues to attain the 2006 24-hour fine particulate matter (PM 2.5) National Ambient Air Quality Standard.

October 2012: Determination of Attainment of the 1-Hour Ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standards in the Sacramento Metro Nonattainment Area in California
October 3, 2012: EPA determed that the Sacramento Metro severe 1-hour ozone nonattainment area has attained the 1-hour ozone national ambient air quality standard based on 2007-2009 data.

May 2011: Sacramento 1-Hour Ozone Clean Air Act Section 185 Termination
May 9, 2011: EPA proposed to determine that California is no longer required to implement or submit a Clean Air Act (CAA) Section 185 fee program for 1-hour ozone as a revision to the State Implementation Plan (SIP) for the Sacramento Metro 1-hour ozone nonattainment area (Sacramento Metro Area). EPA has also taken an “interim final” action to stop sanctions from applying to the Sacramento Metro Area. Portions of the area were subject to sanctions because EPA previously determined that the State of California had not submitted a Section 185 SIP for those portions of the area.
