White Lake was designated as an Area of Concern under the 1987 Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement. On Oct. 30, 2014, EPA announced that White Lake had been removed from the binational list of AOCs. $4.6 million from the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative helped remediate and restore this AOC.
