Beginning in 2011, EPA awarded $4.6 million from the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative to finish work on improving the White Lake AOC.

The MCD has organized local efforts to restore White Lake.  The level of local involvement has been vital to the understanding of White lake AOC issues.

The White Lake PAC includes many different local participants that provide the public with information, services and projects that improve the environment of White Lake.  They advise agencies and express the views and concerns of the local community.
