Rochester Embayment Area of Concern

Rochester Embayment was designated as an Area of Concern under the 1987 Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement. Historic manufacturing facilities caused contamination of an unnamed tributary of Brockport Creek. PCBs, cyanide, dioxins, furans and silver have been found at the AOC. In 2012, EPA requested that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service conduct a wetlands assessment in support of delisting evaluations.
