California Tribal Gasoline Permits

General Air Quality Permit for New or Modified Minor Source Gasoline Dispensing Facilities in Indian Country within California

Public Notice: Comment Period Extended to January 31, 2017

EPA is proposing a draft general permit under the Clean Air Act Federal Indian Country Minor New Source Review (NSR) program for gasoline dispensing facilities (GDFs), such as gas stations, located in Indian country within the geographical boundaries of California.

This action proposes to establish a uniform set of requirements, based on local air quality conditions, and streamline the EPA’s permitting of gas stations, and other GDFs, that construct or modify in Indian country within California.

These requirements are intended to complement the requirements for gas stations already in place on non-tribal lands in California.

The EPA will accept public comments until January 31, 2017, and has also scheduled a public hearing for receiving comments on November 30, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the EPA Region 9 Office in San Francisco, California.
