Combined, these three sectors account for 31% of projected 2030 global non-CO₂ emissions, or approximately 3,957 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (MtCO₂e). Assuming full implementation of current technology, the global abatement potential for the energy sector is projected to be 525 MtCO₂e in 2030.
