Ammonium Sulfate Manufacture: New Source Performance Standards (NSPS)

Rule Summary

Ammonium sulfate ((NH4)2SO4)  is an inorganic salt that can be used in the manufacturing of many different products, including but not limited to, soil fertilizer, cleaning and furnishing care products, and laundry detergent.

The New Source Performance Standards for Ammonium Sulfate Manufacturing regulates emissions of particulate matter (PM) from new, modified, and reconstructed ammonium sulfate dryers at caprolactam by-product ammonium sulfate plants, synthetic ammonium sulfate plants, and coke oven by-product ammonium sulfate plants.
