USFWS releases a fact sheet summarizing its efforts in removing the fish and wildlife beneficial use impairments. |
2011 |
NYSDEC releases an addendum to the stage I and II RAPs that details the current status and upcoming actions to be taken regarding each of the BUIs. A Great Lakes Legacy Act project is completed. The suisitability of non-navigational channel sediments from areas where dredging is desirable is evaluated. Follow-up sampling is planned for summer 2012. The second beneficiaul use impairment is removed.

2005 |
Bird Studies Canada begins its Marsh Monitoring Program. Recapture studies indicates that juvenile fish populations are healthy where the gravelly substrate they prefer is present. Growth rates are also determined to be similar to those measured in similar waters and that benthic organisms necessary to a sturgeon diet are present. |
2004 |
The Village of Churchville wastewater treatment plant is diverted to the Pure Waters system. This eliminates a point source of phosphorus discharge to Black Creek, a major tributary to Genesee River. |
