Purpose/Objective:  

This document focuses on the Site Characterization, Remediation, and Final Status Survey (site release) phases of a contamination incident and is not intended to address the sample collection needs during Initial Response. The procedures are intended for collection of environmental samples in response to a radiological contamination incident or an emergency at the point where Federal Radiological Monitoring and Assessment Center (FRMAC) activities are turned over to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
