Homeland Security Research

Natural or manmade disasters can result in pollution that threatens human health, the environment and our economy. The United States is regularly affected by such disasters. Communities must be resilient to such catastrophes. Resilience requires scientific information to support good decisions. EPA's Homeland Security Research Program provides science and technology needed to rapidly and effectively respond to environmental catastrophes.

Phrase Search (“”)
Put quotes around text to find the exact order. A search for [“Water System”] will result in all instances where the word System is used right after Water. This search will miss pages that refer to Water Distribution System.
Exclude Words (-)
Put a minus sign before any words that should be excluded in the results. A search for [Water -System] will provide search results with all instances of Water where the word System is not used.
“s” and other word endings ($)
Add the dollar sign ($) directly before the singular form of a word to include plurals and endings like “ing”. A search for [dirty $bomb] will provide search results that include Dirty Bomb and Dirty Bombs.
