Kayenta Township Building Code

Kayenta Township, a political subdivision of the Navajo Nation, became the first tribal community in the U.S. to adopt the International Green Construction Code (IGCC) as part of the Township's Building Codes Resolution. They also adopted specific IGCC jurisdictional requirements and project electives and in some cases amended it in the following areas:
  • Conservation Area
  • Agricultural Land
  • Greenfield Sites
  • Site Disturbance Limits on Greenfield Sites
  • Stormwater Management
  • Light Pollution Control
