List of EPA Certified Wood Stoves

The List of EPA Certified Wood Heaters contains information about wood heaters that are in compliance with the 2015 New Source Performance Standard (NSPS) for New Residential Wood Heaters, New Residential Hydronic Heaters and Forced-Air Furnaces at 40 CFR Part 60 (Subpart AAA).  According to the 2015 NSPS, each wood heater manufactured, imported into the United States, and/or sold at retail on or after May 15, 2015 must be certified to not discharge into the atmosphere any gases that contain particulate matter in excess of a weighted average of 4.5 g/hr.  Models with particulate matter emissions greater than 4.5 g/hr, that were manufactured before May 15, 2015, may be imported into the United States and/or sold at retail through December 31, 2015.

This list contains the manufacturer’s name, model name, emission rate (g/hr), heat output (btu/hr), efficiency (actual measured), and appliance type for wood heaters approved by the EPA for sale in the United States.  An EPA-certified wood heater has been independently tested by an EPA-accredited laboratory to determine if it meets the particulate emissions limit of 4.5 grams per hour for non-catalytic, catalytic, and pellet wood heaters.
