  • Targeted Brownfield Assessment (TBA) Program
    EPA's Targeted Brownfields Assessment (TBA) program is designed to help states, tribes, and municipalities—especially those without EPA brownfields assessment pilots/grants—minimize the uncertainties of contamination often associated with brownfields. Targeted Brownfields Assessments supplement and work with other efforts under EPA's brownfields program to promote the cleanup and redevelopment of brownfields. EPA's TBA assistance is available through two sources: directly from EPA through EPA regional brownfields offices or through state or tribal voluntary response program offices. TBA's are provided by EPA at no cost to the community. Please contact your regional Brownfield TBA Coordinator to see if a TBA can be performed at your site.

  • Technical Assistance for Brownfield Communities (TAB) Program
    The TAB program funds technical assistance to communities and other stakeholders on brownfields issues with the goal of increasing the community's understanding and involvement in brownfield cleanup and revitalization, and helping to move brownfields sites forward toward cleanup and reuse. The TAB grantees funded through the TAB program, among other things, serve as an independent resource assisting communities with community involvement, better understanding the health impacts of brownfield sites, science and technology relating to brownfield site assessment, remediation, and site preparation activities, brownfield finance questions, information on integrated approaches to brownfield cleanup and redevelopment, facilitating stakeholder involvement, identifying sources of brownfields assessment and cleanup funding, understanding and complying with state brownfields and voluntary cleanup program requirements, and facilitating redevelopment activities.
