Barona Septic-to-Sewer Project
Project Description
The Barona Septic-to-Sewer Project (Project) is located on the Reservation of the Barona Band of Mission Indians (Tribe) in San Diego County, California. The project is proposed by the Tribe to install approximately 6,300 linear feet (1.2 miles) of 4-, 6- and 8-inch diameter PVC sewer line with ten 4-foot diameter manholes to connect 12 existing tribal homes, tribal government offices, a school, a community recreation center and cultural museum to the Tribe’s existing wastewater treatment plant. The project will replace two failed septic systems serving these homes and buildings.
Environmental Review
EPA has determined that the project will not have significant and unmitigated environmental impacts and proposes to issue a Finding of No Significant Impact instead of an Environmental Impact Statement. Comments on the Environmental Assessment must be submitted to EPA by February 14, 2005.
