Learn More Topic: Collaboration with EPA: State/Tribal Reporting

As part of monitoring and assessing water quality status, every 2 years States/Tribes must submit "integrated reports" to EPA that include the following:

  • Assessment methodology for WQS attainment decisions.
  • Categorization of all State/Tribal waters based on WQS attainment status.
  • Results of probability-based design at State/Tribal or watershed scale.
  • Monitoring priorities for the next 2 years.
  • Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDL) development priorities for all Category 5 waters (i.e., waters impaired or threatened by a pollutant or pollutants).
Resource. For more information on the requirements for submission of biennial “integrated reports” on water quality status, see EPA’s webpage on this topic
