ADB v.2 Installation Files for Windows XP and Earlier

The below zip files contain executable files that can be used to install the ADB v2.3.1. They contain all of the files needed to install the ADB, including both the application and database portion of the ADB. Steps are provided below to assist you with installing the ADB v2.3.1. Additionally, the ADB v.2 Users Guide can be downloaded from the ADB Reference section. Please review the ADB v2.3 release notes before you install the ADB v2.3:

Installation steps and files:

  1. Choose the zip file for the appropriate database format:
    1. adb v.2_oracle.zip
    2. adb v2._access.zip
    3. adb v2._sql.zip
  2. To install the database, unzip the file you downloaded and double click on the .exe file.
  3. Open the ADB interface. Browse to the appropriate database file which contains your assessment information and select it to associate the database with the ADB interface.
  4. Chose a State and cycle.
  5. In the File dropdown list (located on the menu toolbar), choose the “Check for Update” option.
  6. Update the ADB to version 2.3.1 by following the steps listed in the Database, Tables and Software tabs in the Check for Updates window.
  7. If your state's designated uses have been loaded into the ADB, you will be ready to use the database once you complete the download. If your state's designated uses have not been loaded into the ADB, you will need to contact the ATTAINS help desk to get them added.

ADB v.2 Installation Files for Windows 7

There are known compatibility issues with using ADB on Windows 7.

  • ADB for Access - For the most part, the Access version of the ADB is compatible with Windows 7. There is a manual step that needs to be taken during the installation process. In addition, in the Validate Module, the log files do not open properly. Otherwise, there are no known issues. The Access database itself should NOT be converted to Access 2007--users can open the database in Access 2007 but it should always be saved as an Access 2003 or lower database.

You will need the Installation Guide, the Update zip file, and the appropriate ADB Installation file.
  • ADB for Oracle and SQL Server - In limited testing, issues were encounted with the Reports and Browse functions. However, we have heard of users who have not encountered these same issues. There may be additional compatibility issues with these versions.

You will need the Installation Guide and the appropriate ADB Installation file.
