About Section 106 Funding
Section 106 of the Clean Water Act provides funding to support water pollution control programs. Section 518 of the 1987 amendments provides a mechanism for tribal governments to access Clean Water Act funds by the "treatment in a manner similar to a state" eligibility process.
Currently 39 tribes within EPA's Region 10 (serving Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, Washington) are eligible to receive Section 106 funding.
