Tires, appliances, furniture, car batteries, and abandoned vehicles may litter reservations. Backyard burning of waste pollutes the air and poisons fish and wildlife. People from on and off reservations may be illegally dumping solid and hazardous waste on tribal lands. These are just some of the waste issues that are pervasive problems on tribal lands.
