About the Conference
October 17, 2016, marked the 30th anniversary of the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA), which supports and promotes emergency planning and provides the public with information about releases of toxic chemicals in their community through the Toxics Release Inventory (TRI). The 2016 TRI National Conference featured presentations, panels, discussions, exhibits, networking opportunities, and a celebration of 30 years of TRI and community right-to-know. The conference brought together EPA, localities, states, tribes, federal agencies, companies, community groups, researchers, and non-governmental organizations.

The theme of the 2016 conference was TRI at 30: Working Together To Reduce Toxic Releases. The conference included a mix of plenary and breakout sessions and exhibits on the two public-session days, October 19 and 20.
