Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation retained Tennessee State University (TSU) to conduct an initial phase municipal solid waste (MSW) characterization study (“2008 Tennessee Solid Waste Study”) to better understand the composition of solid waste being disposed in Tennessee in 2008.
