Through neighborhood-based planning for the design of the multi-use pedestrian and bike path in the Concord River Greenway Park, the Lowell Parks and Conservation Trust has worked to transform the Concord River in Lowell, Massachusetts, from a boundary between neighborhoods into a shared natural resource that unites these neighborhoods and connects them to regional resources.
The project described in Creating the Concord River Greenway (2006) was supported by a grant from EPA.
