DISTRIBUTION: ------------- WhAEM2000 software is available for download from the CEAM Web site at the following i Uniform Resource Locator (URL): http://www.epa.gov/ceampubl/gwater/whaem/index.htm CEAM downloads include the latest WhAEM2000 software release, documentation, and binary base map files. A compact disk (CD) is available for attendees of WhAEM short courses that contains WhAEM software, example map files and images, and documentation. INSTALLATION: ------------- If the user installed and tested an earlier beta version of WhAEM, it is recommended that the user uninstall the earlier version prior to installing the new version (whaem-v321). If you created project files (*.whm, *.bbm) that you would like to keep, copy them to temporary storage prior to uninstalling. To uninstall, from the task bar click Start, Settings, Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, and select WHAEM from the scroll window. Follow the instructions within the dialog box. You may need to manually delete the WhAEM directory/folder. It is always a good idea to have a recent backup of your hard disc prior to installation of new software. To install WhAEM2000: 1) Navigate to the folder where the "Install_WhAEMv321.EXE" file is stored. Double click that file and follow the instructions. It is recommended that the user accept the default values as presented by the install program. 2) To run WhAEM double click the WhAEM icon on the desktop. 3) If you did not install WhAEM on the C: drive, the program does not automatically default to the working directory [drive letter]:\Program Files\WHAEM\IN\VINCENNE when started for the first time. You must manually navigate to that directory to run the tutorial. After the first startup the directory will be remembered. Note that, by default, the current installer for WhAEM version 3.2.1, copies executable and utility files into the system's Program Files\WhAEM directory. Project files, including the example Vincennes project, are now installed in the \WhAEM directory (where is most likely the C: drive). Look in C:\WhAEM for project files. KNOWN DEFICIENCIES: ------------------- See the release notes for updates. If users discover installation or run time problems and/or deficiencies, please contact the US EPA Project Officer (refer to CONTACTS section below).
