See the Installation.Notes section below for DotNet framework requirements. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- DISTRIBUTION: HDFT Desktop Tool software is available for download from the CEAM Web site at the following Uniform Resource Locator (URL): http://www.epa.gov/athens/research/modeling/tmdl/hdft/desktop/index.html CEAM downloads include the latest HDFT Desktop Tool software release, documentation, updates and patches. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- INSTALLATION: To install Desktop HDFT: 1) Download the installer application "InstallDesktopHDFT.exe.exe" from CEAM. Note that you should save this file to a local disk drive; not a network or shared drive. 2) Navigate to the folder where the "InstallDesktopHDFT.exe.exe" file is stored. Run the file (double-click) to unzip the content (DesktopHDFT.exe) Double-click the DesktopHDFT.exe file and follow the on-screen instruction to copy the model and documentation files onto your system. 3) For Desktop HDFT operation, read the accompanying documentation "HDFT_REPORT" located in the directory of the installed application. The User Guide is also available in PDF format on-line here: http://www.epa.gov/athens/research/modeling/HSPFWebTools/documentation/HDFT_REPORT.pdf Notes: Desktop HDFT is developed with MS Visual Studio 2008 and written in C#. No license or software purchase is required by the user to install and run the application. Users should have a Microsoft XP or Windows 7 based system with the full DotNet Framework 2.0 to assure proper installation and correct operation. Other older/newer MS system may work but have not been tested. Some Desktop HDFT Parsing operations are compute-intensive so faster CPUs are better than slower but most any newer laptop or desktop system is adequate. Disk space requirements are modest (less than 1 MB) if the DotNet Framework is installed; if not then the Framework installer itself requires ~ 200MB of disk space. Obtain and run the framework installer if necessary.
