Partners in Restoring Sheboygan River AOC

The Sheboygan River Basin Partnership is an alliance of volunteers from conservation and environmental groups, local businesses; federal, state, and local agency staff, and individuals working together on natural resource issues in the Sheboygan River Basin. When the partnership formed in 1998, it set a goal to improve the management of valuable natural resources with the help of citizen participation and encouragement. The partnership holds several open forums and volunteering events for citizens to get involved.

The University of Wisconsin Extension provides a wealth of information regarding project updates, webinar presentations, upcoming events and more. The Water Action Volunteers is a group of private citizens who volunteer to collect and analyze data to assess stream ecosystem health in the Milwaukee and Sheboygan River Basins. It is facilitated through the extension.

Wisconsin DNR has aided in many restoration projects, which are described on its website. It also summarizes the roles of community programs designed to spread awareness and provide input regarding the Sheboygan River.
