This is an overview of wildfire smoke and its health effects along with tools available to provide public health guidance during wildfire events. The overview includes the Wildfire Smoke Guide for Public Health Officials and an effort that is underway lead by EPA’s OAQPS in partnership with ORD, USFS, CDC to update the wildfire smoke guide and to provide the draft updated version for use by the States during the 2016 wildfire season.
