Purpose:

EPA is pleased to present the five new grant awards focused on the performance and effectiveness of green infrastructure (GI) stormwater management in an urban area.  Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is the case study site.  A goal of this research is to improve the understanding of the performance and effectiveness of GI, including the combined effects of multiple GI tools, approaches or methodologies in highly urbanized areas. Projects leverage resources and utilize strategic partnerships to address the complexities of urban communities and contribute to a more holistic understanding of the potential of green infrastructure in the urban water cycle.
