Ocean Acidification Research

EPA Office of Research and Development

NSF Graduate Research Internship Opportunities for NSF Graduate Research Fellows

Current as of November 2016

Opportunity Title:

Ocean Acidification Research

Research Area:

Climate Change

EPA Lab/Center/Office:

National Health and Environmental Effects Research Laboratory

Location:

Gulf Breeze, FL

Duration:

12 months

Brief Summary:

The research aims to understand how projected increases in atmosphere C02 may adversely affect marine organisms. We are using laboratory exposures of coral and estuarine species to test the effects of ocean acidification and other stressors.

Opportunity Description:

The student will join a team investigating the effects of ocean acidification using laboratory exposures of marine organisms to elevated levels of carbon dioxide in seawater.

Opportunities for Professional Development:

The student will learn laboratory techniques in ocean acidification, including chemical analyses and biological exposures.
