Notice of Analysis of the GHG Emissions Attributable to the Production and Transport of Sugar Beets for Use in Biofuel Production

On January 18, 2017, EPA issued a notice of opportunity to comment on the Agency’s analysis of the greenhouse gas emissions attributable to the production and transport of sugar beets for use as a biofuel feedstock. The notice explains EPA’s analysis and describes how it may be applied in the future to determine whether biofuels produced from sugar beets meet the necessary greenhouse gas reductions required for qualification under the RFS program.
