Remediation System Evaluation, Savage Municipal Water Supply Superfund Site (PDF)

The Savage Municipal Water Supply Superfund Site, located on the western edge of Milford, New Hampshire, consists of a source area and an extended plume that is approximately 6,000 feet long and 2,500 feet wide. The remedy was divided into two operable units (OUs) based on the 1991 plume. OU1, also referred to as the OK Tool Source Area, is the portion of the plume that had the
highest levels of groundwater contamination. OU2 is the remaining portion of the concentrated plume and the dissolved plume. OU1 is a State-lead site with 90% of the funding provided by the Superfund program, and OU2 is a responsible-party site.
