EPA Information Quality Guidelines


The EPA's Guidelines for Ensuring and Maximizing the Quality, Objectivity, Utility, and Integrity of Information Disseminated by the Environmental Protection Agency create a mechanism that enables the public to seek and obtain, where appropriate, correction of information disseminated by the EPA that does not comply with OMB's or EPA's Information Quality Guidelines.

Submitting a Request for Correction (RFC)

If you believe that EPA has disseminated information that does not comply with the OMB or EPA Information Quality Guidelines and you are directly affected by this information, then you can submit a request to have this information correct. Submitting a Request for Reconsideration (RFR)

If you are dissatisfied with an EPA decision regarding your Request for Correction, you can submit a Request for Reconsideration.

To submit a Request for Reconsideration you should have already submitted a Request for Correction to EPA and received a response to that request. For information on submitting a request for reconsideration, see "What if I disagree with EPA's decision regarding my request for correction?"
