Biography of Kyle Galbraith

Dr. Kyle Galbraith is the Research Integrity Officer at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In this role, Dr. Galbraith is responsible for overseeing education in the responsible conduct of research for university researchers, as well as coordinating investigations related to allegations of potential research misconduct.

Prior to joining the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Dr. Galbraith managed the Human Subject Protection Office at the Carle Foundation Hospital, a 393-bed regional care hospital based in Urbana, Illinois. He continues to support this office by overseeing daily operations of the Carle Foundation Hospital Institutional Review Board (IRB) and providing human subjects research training to investigators and research support staff. He also participates in the hospital’s ethics consultation service.

Dr. Galbraith received his Ph.D. in religion from Vanderbilt University, a Master of Theological Studies (M.T.S.) degree from the Vanderbilt Divinity School, and his A.B. from Centre College. While at Vanderbilt, Dr. Galbraith also completed a fellowship in clinical ethics through Vanderbilt's Center for Biomedical Ethics and Society. In April 2013, Dr. Galbraith became a Certified IRB Professional (CIP®).
