TODAY: EPA Administrator Receives Franklin D. Roosevelt Distinguished Public Service Award
WASHINGTON – Today, EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy will receive a Franklin D. Roosevelt Distinguished Public Service Award for her dedication to preventing global climate change disasters and creating a sustainable future. Administrator McCarthy has promoted policies at all levels of government, such as the historic Clean Power Plan, that protect the environment and public health.
The Roosevelt Institute hosts the annual award ceremony to pay homage to FDR’s principles and dedication to public service. The awards are given to men and women who spend their careers working for the public in order to honor their courage, commitment, and values. Fellow 2016 honorees include U.S. Representative Keith Ellison of Minnesota and Lee Saunders, President of the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees.
