Mississippi River/Gulf of Mexico Hypoxia Task Force

EPA Tools to Help the HTF

Hypoxia Task Force States continue to develop state nutrient reduction strategies that serve as the detailed plans for nutrient load reductions both in-state and in the Gulf of Mexico. Some states have already completed their strategies, while others continue to work on completing draft and final documents.

As states move into the stage of implementing their strategies, they will need help from external partners. The effort needed to tackle the nutrient problems in the Mississippi River Basin and the Gulf will only be successful if many organizations step up to help. The more groups that join the effort, the better chance we will succeed! Contact your HTF state agency to ask how you can get involved in implementing the state nutrient reduction strategies. Below is a list of EPA tools available to states and interested stakeholders working to reduce nutrient pollution.
