Year Critical Actions

2013

Ohio EPA, Partners for Clean Streems and a US EPA funded contractor begin developing a data management and delisting system Exit. Stakeholders can review current analytical data and projects. It is a decision-making tool for project implementation.

2012

Restoration plans are composed for the lower Maumee River tributaries, Lake Erie tributaries and Toussaint River. The Great Lakes Restoration Initiative Exit funds development of the plans.

2010

The Ottawa River Legacy Act cleanup is completed. 240,000 cubic yards of sediment were removed from Ottawa River and another 10,000 cubic yards were dredged from Sibley Creek.

2006

A draft of the Maumee River AOC Watershed Restoration Plan is completed which met requirements for the stage II RAP as well as Ohio EPA’s and Ohio DNR’s Watershed Coordinator Program.

2003

A new inventory is taken for Maumee wetlands and a classification map for the Lucas County portion of the AOC is created.

1997

A strategic action plan is created as part of the Remedial Action Plan. Action groups are formed to focus on specific matters within the AOC and expedite the restoration process.
