On June 6, 2013, LMOP offered a webinar to LMOP Partners to address questions and issues associated with connecting electricity generating systems to the electrical transmission network (the “grid”) that frequently arise during the planning and implementation of landfill gas (LFG) energy projects.
The webinar included a high-level overview of interconnection, including the general process and requirements from a national perspective, a discussion of barriers and challenges, and a review of helpful tools and resources. Speakers with direct, hands-on experience also shared lessons learned and best practices from interconnection projects conducted in different regions in the United States.
