1/23/2017:  Camp Minden Superfund Site Environmental Workshop

EPA, in cooperation with the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ) and the Louisiana Military Department (LMD), will provide a summary of the air monitoring and sampling results that were collected during the Clean Burning Ignitor (CBI) in-place disposal. The CBI disposal in-place was conducted on October 28, October 30, and November 1, 2016, with disposal in-place of the remaining residuals on November 2, 2016.

Explosive Service International (ESI), the prime contractor for LMD, will demonstrate the information that is available on the dashboardExit. The dashboard shows the real time monitoring results from the four LMD air monitoring stations and the Contained Burn System stack. Real time monitoring results are accessible for 24 hours (rolling results). ESI will provide a status update and the projected timeline/path forward.

Following the EPA’s workshop, the Camp Minden Community Advisory Group (CAG) will hold its monthly meeting. This meeting is being held in a fully accessible facility and attendance is encouraged. Attendees will have the opportunity to speak directly with EPA, LDEQ, and LMD representatives in an informal setting. Those with any specific needs or questions, please contact Jason T. McKinney, U.S. EPA Community Involvement Coordinator, at 1-800-533-3508 (Toll-Free) or 214-665-8132 (direct line).
