The Elimination of Lead in Paint: Government Briefing

In October 2015, the Global Alliance to Eliminate Lead in Paint held a briefing for governments on "The Elimination of Lead in Paint: How Countries Can Take Action."  The event was hosted by the Canadian Embassy in Washington, D.C. and co-sponsored by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the World Health Organization/Pan American Health Organization (WHO/PAHO) and the U.S. Government.

The meeting served to educate and raise awareness among countries about the critical issue of lead in paint.  It highlighted that paint is the major route of human exposure to lead, especially for children.
