Documents related to EPA Collaboration with Morocco

EPA Collaboration with Morocco on environmental governance began under the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI).  Initial work with Morocco focused on water pollution from the textile industry.

In the second phase of work, as part of EPA’s interagency agreement with the U.S. Department of State, EPA collaborated with the Moroccan Ministry of Environment on technical assistance and capacity building projects on environmental governance and enforcement. This work focused on implementing robust and sustainable permitting and compliance assurance programs for the air, water, and hazardous waste sectors. This work concluded in 2015.

In 2013, EPA also conducted a three-day workshop on Strengthening Public Participation in Environmental Decision-Making in Rabat, Morocco, in collaboration with the Moroccan Ministry of Energy, Mining, Water and Environment.
