In November 1980, Harbison Walker applied for Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Hazardous Waste Permit for waste code D001 (Ignitable Waste). Harbison Walker was aquired by Dresser Industries and Dresser Industries was acquired by Halliburton. Harbison Walker Refractories became Harbinson Walker International (HWI) in 2015.
