Cleanup Status
On June 1, 2011 the Environmental Indicator for Current Human Exposures Under Control was a "Yes". On June 1, 2011, the Environmental Indicator for Migration of Contaminated Groundwater Under Control was a "Yes". Currently the investigation is underway.
Site Description
In March 1975 Beazer East, Inc. (then known as Koppers Company Inc) bought Sprout Waldron & Company, Inc. In August 1986 SWM Corp. bought the Sprout-Waldron Divison of Koppers Company, Inc. In March 1990, the name changed to ADD Sprout-Bauer, Inc. In December 1990, Andrtiz Inc bought ABB Sprout-Bauer, Inc. The name changed to Andritz Sprout-Bauer, Inc. and then to Andritz Inc. Andritz Facility designs and manufactures capital equipment for the feed, grain, chemical, pure food and pulp and paper industries.
The facility is approximately 42 acres and is located in Muncy Pa. Land use surrounding the property consists of mixed residential, commercial, industrial, and agricultural. There have been three Act Two final reports done at this site. These reports were submitted to Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP).
Contaminants at this Facility
Solvents and total petroleum hydrocarbon (TPH) are the most common contaminants detected in groundwater.
Institutional and Engineering Controls at this Facility
The need for Institutional controls is yet to be determined.

The site is being reused.
Site Responsibility at this Facility
Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Corrective Action activities at this facility have been conducted under the direction of EPA Region 3.
