Cleanup Status
The remedy at the facility consists of groundwater extraction and remediation and soil vapor extraction. Institutional controls have been established and Drinking water well installations controlled by the Montgomery County Health Department's permitting process.
Any affected drinking water supplies have been treated or replacement water has been provided to ensure that drinking water meeting the federal standards is supplied to the residents. Uniform Tubes Incorporated (UTI) has initiated a program of contacting the Montgomery County Health Department (MCHD) on a monthly basis in order to continue to update the off-site well database for the areas within the projected area of the plume (UTI’s 2001 Annual Progress Report dated February 14, 2002).

The Uniform Tubes Incorporated (UTI) facility consists of approximately 40 acres located at 200 West 7th Avenue in the Borough of Trappe, Montgomery county, Pennsylvania. Operations at this facility began in 1964, and continue today. UTI manufactures high-precision, small diameter metal tubing and tubular parts.

The contaminants of concern at the facility are trichloroethane (TCE), trichloroethane (TCA), and chromium in soil and groundwater.
