Cleanup Status
On July 14, 2003, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP) and PADEP’s consultants conducted a site visit. The visit consisted of a site tour, and information gathering to assess the current status of the facility. EPA is evaluating the available information to determine if the Environmental Indicators, Current Human Exposures and Migration of Contaminated Water, are under control.
Site Description
The facility is located in the village of Muse, Washington County, Pennsylvania. The facility is currently inactive and no wastes are generated at the site. The facility manufactured synthetic resins for the foundry industry and compound chemicals for use in the foundry industry.
Contaminants at this Facility
On July 18, 1980, Combustion Engineering submitted a Notification of Hazardous Waste Activity to the USEPA for generation and Treatment /Storage/Disposal (TSD) of chemicals with Hazardous Waste Codes: U054, U080, U122, U123, U154, U188, U190, U201, an U226.
