The F019 waste listing was amended in order to facilitate the use of aluminum in automobiles, light trucks and utility vehicles. The utilization of aluminum parts requires a metal finishing or coating process that generates wastewater listed as hazardous waste (F019). The amendment exempts F019 waste from being managed as hazardous waste as long as the waste is not placed outside on the land prior to shipment to an appropriately specified landfill.
